~Testimonial~

The first spiritual partner I was matched to has been a real blessing in my life.  I would never have had the opportunity to know what a wonderful young lady she is.  We got together on a one-to-one basis each week and often texted each other during the week.  The experience is one I will always cherish.

Overall, I would highly recommend the Spiritual Partners program.  Pastor Unger’s presentations have been most helpful to strengthen relationships both with God and one another.  My life has been enriched by being able to participate in each session.

Walk in the Light
Martin Luther King Jr., in his sermon “Three Dimensions of a Complete Life,” circa 1963

“Light has come into the world, and every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or the darkness of destructive selfishness. ... Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'”

Acts of the Apostles
Ellen G. White

It is not a conclusive evidence that a man is a Christian because he manifests spiritual ecstasy under extraordinary circumstances. Holiness is not rapture: it is an entire surrender of the will to God; it is living by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God; it is doing the will of our heavenly Father; it is trusting God in trial, in darkness as well as in the light; it is walking by faith and not by sight; it is relying on God with unquestioning confidence, and resting in His love. AA 51.2

“Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; but have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” AA 329.1

A Call to Medical Evangelism and Health Education
Ellen G. White

A Continual Reform Essential
Reform, continual reform, must be kept before the people, and by our example we must enforce our teachings. True religion and the laws of health go hand in hand. It is impossible to work for the salvation of men and women without presenting to them the need of breaking away from sinful gratifications, which destroy the health, debase the soul, and prevent divine truth from impressing the mind. Men and women must be taught to take a careful review of every habit and every practice, and at once put away those things that cause an unhealthy condition of the body,  and thus cast a dark shadow over the mind.—Counsels on Health, 445.
Those who act as teachers are to be intelligent in regard to disease and its causes, understanding that every action of the human agent should be in perfect harmony with the laws of life. The light God has given on health reform is for our salvation and the salvation of the world. Men and women should be informed in regard to the human habitation, fitted up by our Creator as His dwelling place, and over which He desires us to be faithful stewards. “For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”—The Review and Herald, November 12, 1901. CME 31-CME 32.1
Responsibility of Those Who Have Light
There are but few as yet who are aroused sufficiently to understand how much their habits of diet have to do with their health, their characters, their usefulness in this world, and their eternal destiny. I saw that it is the duty of those who have received the light from Heaven, and have realized the benefit of walking in it, to manifest a greater interest for those who are still suffering for want of knowledge. Sabbathkeepers who are looking for the soon appearing of their Saviour should be the last to manifest a lack of interest in this great work of reform. Men and women must be instructed, and ministers and people should feel that the burden of the work rests upon them to agitate the subject, and urge it home upon others.—Testimonies for the Church 1:488, 489. REFLECTION

"God has called us into His marvellous light (1 Peter 2:9)! You were dead and yet you are alive, which is a marvel before the universe that in Christ we live (Galatians 2:20). You see, in the beginning, we are told, there was a void - it was formless and dark - an emptiness, so to speak. But "God said, 'Let there be light....'. And then we're told that He separated this light from the darkness (Genesis 1:1-4). We are not to mingle the two, light and darkness, for if there is no light in it then it is not Truth or according to the Word of God - whether we speak of things, shows, events, our life, or our witness - this rings true (Isaiah 8:20).
I came to the point with my Junior Religious Studies class, after discussing many trivial points and questions within their minds and the Adventist community, that I would simply ask them, "Does it honour God?!" Today, does your life, your witness, your Jesus honour God's precepts, principles, laws and ultimately His love?"
                                                                                                            ~Teresa F.
