MC Spotlight

From this small beginning it was shown to me to be like streams of light that went clear round the world. EGW, LS 125

What's Mission?

A group of workshop participants attending a mission conference eyed each other nervously from across the table where they were seated. Conversation was awkward because the group had so little in common—in ideology, culture, and dress.
But once they began talking about a topic of passionate, mutual interest—mission!—they became an instant family. It works for churches too.
Another name for mission is purpose. No matter how diverse they are as individuals, a group of people who come together around the same purpose (mission) can work miracles—whether it’s a football team vying for a national championship, or a group of engineers putting people into space, or a congregation anxious to do something great for God. (Matthew 28:18-20)

Resources & News

"Listen to Each Other" — NAD president G. Alexander Bryant shares his reflections on Black History Month and his desire for Adventists in North America to share their own personal story with people from other communities as they seek to better understand the diversity in the church.

Most were not predicting it, and many treasurers at various levels of the church were looking for a report trending in the opposite direction. But in what could only be described as a miracle of faithfulness, 2020 tithe figures for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in North America came in close to 1.1 billion dollars.

There is a lot of information being released surrounding the COVID-19 vaccine and where there are facts, there is bound to be some misinformation as well. Avni Jain, MD, family medicine physician with Adventist Medical Group sets the record straight by dispelling some of the myths that have surfaced since the development and the emergency use authorization (EUA) of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines the idiom “in the loop” as “a group of people who know about or have influence . . . over something”.   It comes from 1960’s military terminology for the feedback loop established between the officers passing on orders and the soldiers who received them and returned information and feedback.  Today, we recognise it as a way of saying that a person has been kept informed of what is going on in a specific circle or group; they have been kept “in the loop”.
The Sandy Lake Academy school community extends beyond the brick and mortar walls of our building, and we are supported by parents, families, churches, and community members throughout the Maritimes and across Canada.  By creating our newsletter, and by extension this website, we aim to keep all those who give their time, energy, and prayers In the Loop.

In 2019, we had over 55,000 participants from 105 countries from around the world at the Chosen International Camporee, and 1,320 souls were baptized. God has truly blessed the Camporee beyond what we could have ever imagined. We have grown!
An exciting and historical vote was taken by the 2024 International Camporee Executive Advisory Committee which will impact Pathfinders around the world. This vote approved two things: A change of location for the 2024 Believe the Promise Camporee from Oshkosh, Wisconsin to Gillette, Wyoming, and new dates of August 5-11, 2024. LEARN MORE
